Before now, inheritance of property in most Nigerian culture was manly dominated by males. But in the recent time people, especially the women, have taken the rare initiative to challenge the culture of inheritance of property that excludes them from inheriting their fathers or husbands property. In view of this, this study investigated the contentious issues of property inheritance as it affects the women group in Esan culture, Nigeria. Esan is located in Edo state, South- South Nigeria.
