Flood Mapping Using Geographic Information System: A Case Study Of Asokore Mampong Municipal
In the last decades, about 1.4 billion people have been directly and indirectly affected by floods across various metros, municipals and districts (Jonkman, 2005). Asokore Mampong Municipal is one of the severely affected flood areas in the Ashanti Region. Largely because of the undulating nature of topography, the negligence of the authorities and unplanned growth of the municipality, impacting the natural flow of rivers; Aboabo and Sisai. Until now, flood maps still don’t exist for the municipality.
