Response Of Pearl Millet Cultivars To Organic And Inorganic Fertilizers
The study was conducted to evaluate the response of two pearl millet cultivars (bonko shot and manga nara) to organic and inorganic fertilizers in terms of growth and yield, in the Guinea Savannah agro ecological zone of Northern Ghana during the 2017 cropping season. Inorganic fertilizers are seldom applied in pearl millet cultivation in Northern Ghana, because they are relatively expensive and beyond the reach of the average local farmer. In view of this, this study was conducted to evaluate the effects of organic fertilizer (cow-dung), inorganic fertilizer: N.P.K (10:5:5) and integrated application of cow dung and N.P.K (10:5:5) fertilizers on two pearl millet varieties.
