Background: The Rh blood system is so important because the Rh antibody can cause severe hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN). Some regions of the world have the people with the sickle cell disease (SSD) as much as up to 5% of the population. Objective: The objective of the study is to assess the knowledge of Hb genotype/Rh D incompartibility to prevent SCD and HDN among women attending antenatal clinic in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Method: A descriptive study design involving a questionnaire to access information concerning the subject's knowledge and practice on the issue was used.
