The Teaching Of Visual Art In Basic Schools In The Upper East Region Of Ghana: The Case Of The Bolgatanga Municipality
Basic Design and Technology (BDT) study in all Public and Private Junior High Schools in Ghana is a requirement. BDT includes aspects of Home Economics, Pre-Technical Skills and Visual Art. However, some schools are unable to run these three components effectively in the schools. The research was designed to investigate the extent of neglect of Visual Art alone in Schools in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East region of Ghana. Interviews were conducted at the Regional and Municipal Educations offices in the area. Eighty (80) Schools out of 110 were visited for purposes of collecting data using questionnaires.
