Screening Of Four Rice Cultivars (oryza Sativa L.) For Resilience To Drought Stress And Low Inorganic Fertilizer
A complete randomized block design screen house potted experiment was conducted at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. The aim was to determine the tolerance of four rice cultivars (FARO 44, FARO 52, Srilanka and Nerica-1) to drought stress and low NPK. The rice cultivars were subjected to drought treatments (alternative wetting and drying) with 100kg NPK/ha considered half dose of recommended NPK (200kg/h) dose in the study area. Control experiments with full irrigation and full NPK dose (200kg/ha) were employed. Growth and yield of the rice cultivars were determined.
