Importation of rice has posed a serious challenge to Nigeria as a nation. This is so because it is the most important staple food consumed by virtually all families in the nation. This however makes the local demand to exceed the supply. Ini Local Government of Akwa Ibom State is notable for its ancient history on rice production, but over the years ,the output of rice in this Local Government and its adjourning communities seems to be retrogressing living the people in doubt as to what the future of inhabitants and indeed the entire nation will be in the area of food security.
