Assessment Of Parental Mediation Strategies On The Impact Of Video Games On Children's Social Development In Southeast Nigeria
Globally videogames have gained popularity in recent time including in Nigeria. Studies have shown that this class of interactive media has both positive and negative effects on its users, especially children. Consequently, this study assessed Parental mediation strategies on the impact of videogames use on children in South-East Nigeria with mothers in focus. Situated in the framework of the Parental Mediation Theory, the study adopted a focus group discussion (FGD) qualitative method. 18 discussants were purposively selected for three FGD sessions of six participants each. Data analysis was qualitative.
