Duration Of Illness And Utilization Of Complementary Alternative Medicine Among Patient With Mental Disorders At Mathari National Hospital Nairobi, Kenya: A Descriptive Cross Sectional Study
Background: Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) is widely utilized in most communities since ancient times however, rarely studied systematically. Objective: The aim of the study was to assess duration of illness and utilization of CAM among patients with mental disorders at Mathari National Referral Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. Material: A descriptive cross sectional research design among inpatients with mental disorders selected by systematic random sampling. Inclusion criteria adults 18-65 years, both males and females with a Mini Mental Status Examination (MMSE) score above 24/30.
