Project performance at the county levels has faced numerous problems in Kenya due to lack/inadequate public participation. This study investigates the influence of public participation on project performance in Nyeri County. The specific objective of the study was: to determine the influence of county leadership on project performance. The study is guided by legitimacy theory.
