In most firms, the entrepreneur, as the dominant decision-maker, has a considerable influence on performance of the firm. The objective of this study is to examine the influence of the characteristics of the owner-manager on business performance of the Small and Medium Enterprises in Ghana. The study is based on survey methodology through a structured questionnaire administered on owner-managers of SMEs in the Accra and Tema metropolis of the Greater Accra Region.
