Food insecurity has existed in the developing countries since the 1970s when the population increased exponentially resulting to persistent food shortages. This called for the deployment of agricultural extension officers at local levels. This study on agricultural extension services and food security amongst peasants was conducted in Gachuba Division, Nyamira County-Kenya. Despite the presence of agricultural extension officers and introduction of improved farming technologies and practices for boosting agricultural production in developing countries, the peasants were still food insecure.
