Kano Region is unique in its physical and human setting not only because of the dynamic changes it manifest, but also its influence in the West African sub-continents. This study describes the physical environment in the region such as climate and its characteristic, geology and the resultant relief, soil and vegetation as well as hydrology and hydrogeology. The study also describes the associated human variables of the region such as agriculture, manufacturing industries, population and settlement. The paper concludes that, the dynamic inter-relationship between the physical and human variables strongly influence the existence of Kano as a region. Download
