Exploring Graduate Unemployment In Ghana: Challenges And Strategies
This is an exploratory study which examines graduate unemployment problem in Ghana. Semi-structured interview method was used to collect data. Unemployment was closely related to lack of adequate education. The situation seems to be changing. Today, Ghana has in existence, ‘Unemployed University Graduate Association’. The National Labor Commission estimates a staggering unemployed figure of 700,000. It appears no coordinated strategies are fashioned to address the unemployment problem. The universities, governments and the private sector players should promote youth entrepreneurial training.
