The adoption and use of certified seed are a proven pathway for increasing productivity and ensuring food security in the world. Hence, this study was motivated by the low adoption of the certified maize seed by small-scale farmers in Miono. The study examines empathetic factors affecting farmers' adoption of certified seed focusing on the dimensions as awareness, perceptions, willingness, and access to seeds. The study employed qualitative methods and thematic analysis to achieve its objectives. The result established that formal adoption of certified maize seed did not exist in the study area. Download
