Invasive alien plant species are significant and increasing problems in the face of changing climate especially in farmlands and forests. Ageratum houstonianum Mill is a garden escape herbaceous plant that has become invasive in different parts of the world; was found occurring in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Field assessments revealed heavy scale intrusion, colonization and expansion of the species in various habitats with severe impacts on the native ecosystems.
