The need to characterize subsurface strata necessitated this work in parts of coastal Ogbia environs in Bayelsa State. Abem Terrameter (SAS 1000) was employed for the survey using Schlumberger and wenner electrode configuration methods. Vertical electrical soundings (VES) were carried out in the study area with maximum current electrode spacing 200 m for the 1 D case and a maximum spread length of 100 m for the 2-D case. The ID resistivity data acquired were inverted for interpretation using computer software INTERPEX 1-D.software while for 2-D the Dipro Inversion based on FEM modeling was used.
