Twelve soybean varieties were evaluated to determine their performance in a humid tropical environment.The study was laid out in randomized complete block design with three replicates. Measurements were taken at 4, 6 and 10 weeks after planting. The result obtained showed that there were significant differences at 5 % probability level among the varieties for most of the characters evaluated. Number of days to 50% flowering was lower in the early maturing varieties than the late maturing varieties, while late flowering ones were TGX 1440-1E and TGX 1987-57F. Plant height varied. The best yielding varieties for the humid tropical environment were TGX 1987-14F and TGX 1987-10F. Download
