Characteristics Of Inter-organizational Partnerships In Health Workers’ Training: A Case Of Ophthalmology Programs At Kenya Medical Training College
The objective of the study was to describe the characteristics of partners collaborating with KMTC in ophthalmology training programs. An exploratory research design was employed in the form of a qualitative case study. Through purposive sampling 24 representatives of organizations that partner with KMTC were contacted and interviewed using a semi-structured interview schedule and an observation checklist. Data was analysed using thematic analysis and pattern-matching, and presented in tables and narratives. The study found that this is a long-term heterogeneous partnership with a unique coordination mechanism. There exists a collaboration space for current and new strategic partners.
