Air transportation has been a contributing factor in shaping the economic and demographic patterns of the world. However, the continues loss of human lives and properties in circumstances that are foreseen and in some cases are avoidable due to accident in the civil air transport industry necessitated the assessment of recues’ practices in Nigerian airports. The paper utilized simple descriptive analysis to analyze findings from the structured questionnaires used to obtain the data. The results show there is a reasonable compliance to ICAO standard and recommended practice, and some of the challenges are lack of adequate resources and training of its personnel.
