The importance of the consumption of a variety of food cannot be overemphasized because of its implication on nutritional status. This study assessed the food consumption and nutritional status of women of child bearing age in some rural areas. A total of 400 respondents were randomly selected in four (4) randomly selected rural areas. A pretested semi structured questionnaire was used to obtain information on socioeconomic status, demography as well as food consumption.
