The symmetric key encryption is a method relatively fast. Distribution of symmetric key involves third party which increase security risk when the intruder manage to get the key. This is different from asymmetric encryption with the use of different keys to encrypt and decrypt. The encryption key is shared with public, since the receiver of data keep the decryption key. The key distribution is an advantage for asymmetric key encryption even if they are very slow. The slowness of asymmetric algorithm gives open windows for attackers to compute for huge data.
