Adoption Of Improved Maize Varieties And Fertilizer Packages And Knowledge Level Of Small-holder Farmers In Chunya District, Mbeya, Tanzania
This study was conducted to assess factors influencing adoption of recommended improved maize varieties (IMVs) and fertilizer packages among smallholder farmers in selected villages in Songwe Division, Chunya District. Quantitative data from 120 respondents were collected using an interview schedule. The findings show that adoption of IMVs and fertilizer packages was still low, with 58% categorized as having low adoption, 32%, 9.2% having medium and high adoption levels, respectively.
