Agriculture Among Religious Minorities Of Karnataka: Problems And Prospects
India is a Multi-religious, Multi-linguistic and Multi-cultural country of the world. As per the National Minorities act 1992, the religious minorities in India include Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs and Parsis, and they constitute 18 percent of population in India. As in India, So in Karnataka State religious minority population accounts 17.86 percent of the population. As per the Socio-Economic and Educational Survey of Minorities 1994 of Karnataka Conducted by Karnataka State minorities Commission 49.96 percent of religious minorities resides in rural areas whose major occupation is agriculture.
