The Effect Of An Agroforestry Tree Species (alnus Acuminata ) On Maize And Irish Potato Production In Highland Region Of Rwanda
This study was conducted to assess the effects of Alnus acuminata in the farming system on Maize and Irish potato crop performance at Jenda and Kinigi sites located respectively in Nyabihu and Musanze District, Rwanda. This study tested the hypothesis that A. acuminata trees add nutrients into soil and trees’ presence affect crop performance on one way or the other.Treatments were from tree row: 0-3 m, 4.5 –7.5 m and control.
