Why Does Foreign Direct Investment Go Where It Goes? New Evidence From The East African Community Countries
The aim of the study was to investigate factors influencing the attractiveness of FDI in East Africa. The study used secondary data of respective Eastern Africa countries covering the period of 22 years (1990-2012). The total of nine variables was used. One variable which was FDI stood as a dependent variable and eight variables stood as the independent variables which were: Financial depth; trade openness; official exchange rate; Inflation; Skilled labor; infrastructure; market size; and return on investment.
