Effectiveness Of Conservation Agriculture Technologies In Soil Erosion Control, Soil Moisture Retention And Improved Labour Productivity On Steep Slopes
A study was conducted in the 2015/16 short rains season, in the southern Uluguru Mountains, Morogoro, Tanzania. The aim was to investigate the effectiveness of Conservation Agriculture (CA) technologies on soil erosion control, soil moisture retention, and labour productivity for improved crop productivity on steep slopes. There was a high significant difference (P < 0.001) between conventional practice (Control) (T1M1) and all other treatments with CA components on erosion control. Most CA options showed ability to control soil loss by more than 25 times compared to the conventional practice. On average, CA treatments recorded numerically higher volumetric moisture content at 0 to 70 cm soi
