Objective: To establish the socio-economic factors influencing jigger infestation.
Design: Cross-sectional descriptive study.
Setting: Mathioya constituency,Kiiru
Subjects: 384 Adults and Children
Results:Tungiasis, otherwise known as jigger infestation is endemic to Africa and South America and is caused by a female sand flea. The purpose of the study was to establish socioeconomic risk factors associated with jigger infestation (Tungiasis).
