Environmental Determinants Of Infant Mortality In Anambra State, Nigeria
One of the goals of the MDGs is to reduce infant mortality by two thirds by 2015. The purpose of this study was to ascertain the environmental factors affecting infant mortality in Anambra State. Using a descriptive survey design, the study focused on the relation of infant mortality to few environmental factors such as parity, birth spacing, antenatal visit, place of delivery and place of residence. A sample size of 432 mothers were selected by random and systematic sampling. Data was collected using a Researcher Designed Structured Interview Schedule on infant mortality which were validated by experts and with reliability coefficient of 0.90.
