An Assessment Of The Community And Home Based Care (c&hbc) Programme In The Era Of Anti-retroviral Therapy: The Case Of Mashonaland East Province In Zimbabwe
The anti-retro-viral therapy Programme began in 2004 in Mashonaland East Province. Since then there has been a massive decline of home bound and bedridden patients due to the treatment. Against this background this research was carried out to assess the acceptability level of community and home-based care in the community in the era of ART.The research was conducted in four districts that recorded the highest number of HBC clients namely, Mutoko, Seke, Mudzi and Marondera. Using a mixed method approach we carried out an assessment of the Community and Home Based Care Programme basing of the question, what is the importance of the C&HBC Programme work in the era of anti-retro-viral therapy?
