Sesame (Sesamum indicum) is a high nutritional value crop with huge international market demand but its cultivation is limited to the three Northern regions (Upper West, Upper East and North) in Ghana. It is mostly grown in Sudan Savanna ecological zones for household consumption. To evaluate the possibility of cultivating sesame to boost production to a commercial scale; field experiments were carried out at Valley View University farms, in the transitional zone and Guo in the Sudan Savanna Zone.
