Sanitary waste is becoming a serious menace to the environment as people are resorting to dumping used pampers and sanitary pads. Pampers do not simply burn and the countries are facing major challenges in disposal of sanitary waste yet illegal dump sites in urban areas are fast growing posing environmental risks and associated with the numerous outbreaks of typhoid fever. This study was carried out in Laini Saba Location, Kibra Sub-County, Nairobi County, Kenya, between September and October 2015. The study sample was 384 household heads. A list of households was obtained from Langata Sub-county Statistical Office. Simple random sampling was used to select the first household in each villa
