Perceived Appropriateness Of Instructional Methods Used To Teach Home Science Lessons In Teacher Training Colleges In Kenya
The role of curriculum instruction is to enable the learner achieve lesson objectives at the end of learning. Instructional methods adopted by the teacher affect the level of content mastery in learners to a great extent. This study sought perceptions towards the frequency with which tutors use suggested instructional methods and the appropriateness of these methods for Home Science lessons in teacher training colleges. The study sample comprised of 22 tutors, 318 teacher trainees and 30 primary school teachers. Self administered questionnaires were used to solicit this information. Results showed that question and answer method, lecturing and use of group work were the most popular instruct
