Spatial And Temporal Changes In The Growth Dynamics Of A Medium Sized Urban Center In Nigeria
Researchjournali's Journal Of GeographyAug,2017

Settlements represent the most profound human alteration of the natural environment through a spectrum of urban land use activities. This is no longer restricted to the mega urban centres but also occurring in the smaller urban centre. The role of small and intermediate urban centers in local, regional and national development and sustainable urbanization is immense but truncated by this development. This study assesses urban growth dynamics of Anyigba a medium sized urban centre in Kogi state Nigeria. The study relied on the satellite imageries of Anyigba in 1987, 2001 and 2011 as well as the population of Anyigba for 1991 for analysis. The images acquired were Landsat image ETM and Landsat
