Sandcrete blocks form the major walling material in the construction of building structures. Many firms in the business of manufacturing sandcrete blocks in Ikorodu and its environs use sand from various sources in the production of these blocks. This paper is out to investigate the compressive strength of sandcrete blocks manufactured with sand from various sources. The three types of sand (Dredged, River Sand and Dug out) being used for the production of sandcrete blocks were obtained and used to produce 225mm x 225mm x 450mm sandcrete blocks and the blocks were tested for compressive strength.
