Do Importers Have A Choice In Deciding On A Shipping Line?
The study’s research objective was to specifically assess the factors that influence the choice of shipping lines among importers in Ghana. It further seeks to identify the relative importance of the factors that influence their shipping line choice. The study conveniently samples 100 import companies which are located within the enclave of Tema industrial area and harbour area and administered questionnaires to them. Data gathered is analysed with SPSS. The study establishes that importers choice of shipping line is influenced by several factors bothering on pricing, service quality and customer service and port operations.
