Trend Analysis Of Non-traditional Exports (ntes) In Ghana
Diversification of Export under the Structural Adjustment Programme launched in 1986 in Ghana aimed to use NTEs as a ‘priority sector” to restore Ghana’s balance of payments by increasing export earnings. It was reckoned that NTEs should grow exponentially to augment contributions from the traditional sector. The study relied on descriptive analysis, tables and charts to provide trend analysis of the contribution of NTEs to total exports and GDP growth in Ghana. It also analysed sub-sector performances, leading products in the sector and market destinations of NTEs.
