Despite the fact that the Kenyan law limits the use of corporal punishment in schools in accordance to the regulations of education, many schools still practice the traditional corporal punishment with little or no regard for the regulations. The lethargy and slow rate of enforcement of the provisions of these regulations have opened a gap for corporal punishment to prevail in reinforcing negative behavior.
