Increasing environmental concerns and the emphasis on materials and energy are overwhelmingly changing the modus operandi of solid waste management as a whole and its transportation in particular. This study targeted Tamale metropolis so that a comprehensive and workable as well as efficient approach to solid waste management could be adopted, with the emphasis on transportation.
