Increasing environmental concerns and the emphasis on materials and energy are overwhelmingly changing the modus operandi of solid waste management as a whole and its transportation in particular. This study targeted Tamale metropolis so that a comprehensive and workable as well as efficient approach to solid waste management could be adopted, with the emphasis on transportation. The waste in the Metropolis has been managed largely by the Waste Management Department (WMD) and ZoomLion (ZL).
