Human encroachment into forests is happening in many parts of the world, especially in the Tropics where Tropical mountain forests show the highest recession rate. In Africa where population growth is high and cultivable land is little farmers are forced to use marginal and riparian lands. This research sought to establish the causes of encroachment on Aberdare Forest, one of Kenya’s five water towers.
