This study assesses the effectiveness of the housing cooperative approach in the provision of housing in Bindura town. In this study, the council and housing cooperative executive members and officials from the Ministry of National Housing and Social Amenities, one hundred and twenty members from two housing cooperatives were used as the research subjects. Survey questionnaires, key informant interviews, focus group discussions and personal observation were used as research instruments. Findings of the study show that the housing cooperatives were able to purchase land, develop site plans and service stands, however, there are no completed housing units. Download
