The present study highlights on the emergent industrial conflicts at the factory of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. situated at Bangalore. It was revealed that the industry has been experiencing turbulent industrial relations situation since one year due to non settlement of wage issue followed by strike & lockout by the workmen & management. Due to intervention of the Karnataka Government, the industrial disputes has been referred to Industrial Tribunal for adjudication giving an end to the strike/lockout w.e.f 22.04.2014. Further, the study suggested that the state IR mechanism failed to prevent the strike & lockout due to certain loopholes & gap between policy & practice in ID Act 1947
