Strengthening Environmental Sustainability Through Policy-driven Teacher Education Reform: A Proposal For Establishing A Centre For Atmospheric And Environmental Physics Research (caepre) In Nigeria
Nigeria faces increasing environmental issues. These issues include climate change, air pollution, land degradation, and unsustainable resource use. Despite the existence of national environmental policies, implementation remains constrained by limited localized environmental data and a shortage of educators with practical research competence in environmental sciences. This paper presents a policy-oriented education reform framework through the proposed establishment of a Centre for Atmospheric and Environmental Physics Research (CAEPRe) at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor, Edo State.
