The major objectives of the study are to investigate the determinants of industrial disputes in private universities in South-south geopolitical region of Nigeria and suggest ways of controlling industrial disputes in private universities in the study area. The study used cross sectional survey design while cluster sampling technique was used to select 240 respondents in Western Delta University, Obong University and Rhema University. The study used questionnaires and key informant interviews to collect data while data analysis involved use of percentages for questionnaires and verbal transcription for key informant interviews.
