In the recent past, our society seems to have witnessed a surge in the acts of violence against women followed by utter insensitive reactions from people in places of power and prestige. The sudden question that arises is whether we have failed to create a gender sensitive society and the possible reasons for the same. The present paper seeks to analyse the importance of Women’s Studies in shaping a gender sensitive society by making a comparative study of gender sensitivity among students who have studied Women’s Studies in their curriculum and those who haven’t studied the subject. The findings have been drawn accordingly.
