Management practices surrounding production, distribution and marketing of milk and milk products derermines foodsafety. This study sought to establish local mangement practices related to camel milk and diseases associated with lactating camels. The study was undertaken in Isiolo and Marsabit Counties. The study was guided by three objectives namely: i) to examine camel management practices among the pastoralists of Isiolo and Marsabit Counties; ii) to identify common diseases that affected lactating camels and their management among the inhabitants of the two counties and iii) to describe camel milk handling practices along the value chain.
