Integrated Bio-sanitation Technology And Health Outcomes Among Secondary Schools In The Lake Victoria Basin, Kenya: Evidence From A Quasi-experimental Study
Poor sanitation remains a major contributor to water pollution and sanitation-related diseases among school-going children in low- and middle-income countries. Conventional sanitation systems often fail because of inadequate operation and maintenance, limited resource recovery, and weak institutional ownership. This study evaluated the effectiveness of an Integrated Bio-Sanitation Technology (IBST) intervention in reducing sanitation-related illnesses among secondary schools in the Lake Victoria Basin, Kenya. A quasi-experimental study design compared intervention and control schools using baseline and end line assessments. Download
